He added that a recommendation to mercy would no doubt hare due weight At 7 o'clock the jury returned to ask whether a verdict of manslaughter, would be accepted • His Honor directed them that the premeditation would aot aloue reduce the crime to maaslaugkter. The jury were locked up all night The foreman said that there seemed not the slightest possibility x -of the jury agreeing.
