Drowned in the Wanganui River
» [P£B UNITED PBEBS ASSOCIATION.*! Wakgakvi, This Day. The body of a man named Joseph Shelly, who has been missing lince Thursday last, wan found in the river (his morning by the dragging party. Hewas with his wife and brother in law at 9 o'clock on Thursday evening, and went ostensibly to get some supper beer, but nothing had been since heard of him. Hecame from the Buller, where he had previously been a hotelkeeper and afterwards worked in the employ of the Harbor Board, and it was thought at th» time he had gone back there by the Wallace, which left the same evening for the West Coast of the other island. It it not known whether suicide or accident, but no cause is assigned for the former. An inquest will be held.
