A man named William Gouldatone, 43 years of ape, employed by a firm in Lower Thames street, resided in St. James street, at the former locality Tbe previous week his wife was confined of twins, and bad a woman in the house to nurse her. At tho same moment she heard screaming in the room where Jdrs Gouldstone was in bed. She called for assistance, and the door was burst open. Then it was found that the enraged father, after drowning his three eldest children, bad struck tbe twin babes at their mother's breast with a hammer, from the effects of ■which both died the same day.
