Wanganui Harbor Board.

The ordinary meeting was held on Tuesday afternoon in the Board's offices, Wanganui. Among other business Ifc was agreed that the price at which tbe new deferred payment sections be offered should be 30s ns before. Five tenders were received for felling bush and clearing a road line of about 482 chains in the endowment block. The tenders were alternative (1) felling a width, of 33 feet and clearing and stumping IS feet ; (2) for felling 33 feet and clearing and stumping 6 feet. Messrs Ashworth and Co., of Feilding, were the lowest tenderers at £362 for No. 1 contract, snd £241 for No. 2. Some discussion followed as to which course should bo adopted. — Mr Jackson moved and Mr Balance seconded that the tenders for tho first contract, 16 feet, shonld be accepted; and Mr Abbot moved and Mr Poison seconded that the second one be accepted. Eventually the tender for the second alternative was accepted.
