Frozen Meat Trade.
« The N.Z.L. & M.A. Company report, under date September 6 : — DtJ-fEDiN-— Since our last report the ship Lyttelton and the s.s. British King hare left Port Chalmers, the former carrying6293 frozen sheep, the latter 7082 ; and the works at Burnside are now in full swing preparing i for another shipment. Chbistchubch. — The arrival of the lonic in London with her large cargo in excellent conditionhas served to inspire deeper interest ia ; the business, and sheep-formers display great anxiety to secure space in the steamers shortly to fill up. Some disapj pointment, however, has been occasioned Iby the sudden fluctuations in price; cablegrams announcing sales at 7d to B<i per lb., were followed at only two day's interval, by advices of sales at 6d to 7d. If the latter figures are correct, this is evidence of the sensitive nature of th© market, and tbe necessity which exists for manipulating consignments with caution, and due regard to supply and demand. The Catalonia sailed oo 26th August, with 14,346 carcasses, the whole of which were supplied by the local Company, and the British King took her departure on September Ist, with 8908 ! carcases, of which 1825 were from the Belfast works.
