Fatal Accident. INQUEST AND VERDICT.

[PES UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATIOX.J Thames, This Day. A verdict was returned last night on the loss of Henry Harris, drowned from the pilot boat whilst going off to the brig: Seabird on the Ist September. After a long inquiry, the jury being locked up from 6 till 10 o'clock, they returned th© following verdict :— " We find that the deceased was accidentally drowned whilst assisting to put the pilot on board." Ten of the jury desired to add a rider pointing out the necessity of the Harbour Board placing proper boatmen at the disposal of the horbourmaster. Two wanted to censure the harbourmaster for not ordering the Seabird to lay to before boarding her. On the suggestion of the coroner both riders were dropped, and the Terdict was signed by all.
