The Banger.
-» In spite of the appointment of a Bor* ough Banger, and the powers with which lie is invested, numbers of persons continue to use the sides op the streets and the banks of the railway as grazing grounds (the only ones they hare in some instances) for their horses and cattle. We have been asked whether the powers of the Eanger extend to unformed roads. . Without doubt his range includes all the streets and roads within the Borough whether formed or not. WhereTer v animals nre found at large it is his dirty to "run. them in." There is even greater reason why stock, more especially cows, should be kept ofi the unmet ailed roads, as in many, cases these are at present the only means of access settlers have to their properties, and when hoofed animals are allowed to roam over them perpetually they are rendered in wei weather utterly impassable*- 'We sympathise with those burgesses ,who are oontinually subject to this annoyance and -hope the offenders will lake this hint and do their best to bring it to a speedy end. l
