[FEE UNITED PBBSS A.SSOCIATiON.I Wellington, This*Day. In the House this afternoon the Committee appointed to inquire into the alleged dummyism in p j ago brought up their report. They find the charges of alleged dummyism on Messrs Gellibrand and Co.'s stations to be fully proved, and that the purchases were not bona fide. A man named MeQuire, an immigrant by the Oxford, died at Newtown to-day. The cause of death is typhoid fever contracted on board the vessel. Dpnedtn, This Day. Considerable interest is being taken in the approaching representation of "Patience" by amateurs. Tickets are fixed at 5s each, and the committee from whom they may be obiain ed is composed of leading gentleman of the city, with Bishop Neville at their head. Chbistchubch. This Day. Mr Mastson has imported from Austrilia two ostriches, with the intention of introducing ostrich farming. One bird died on the voyago. Auckland, This Day. A fire occurred at Belcher's store, Upper Queen-street, at 1 o'clock this morning. Two horses in the stable, valued at £50, were burned to death. The damage done to the property adjacent is estimated at £2000. The origin of the fire i* unknown. The total damage was about £4000.
