Arrival of the Oxford.
*» OUTBREAK OF TYPHOID FEVER. (PEB XTKITBD PBEBS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington This day. Arrived — Oxford, ship, Capt. Seymour, 87 days from London. She has gone into quarantine. Typhoid fever broke out during Ihe passage, and six of the passengers were laid up with it. Three others have died. The names of those who succumbed to the disease are James Silva, aged 26 ; Marion Maylor, aged 16; and Mary Port, aged 20. The two last named were among the Wellington passengers. Thoje sick and convalescent are, Sarah Engler, Annie Jones, Pat O'i onnor, Michael O'Connor, Edward McGowan, and Robert Marshall. The whole of the passengers will be landed on Soames Island. On leaving Plymouth she had aboard the following numbers for various ports : - Wellington, 225 souls ; Nelson, 46 souls; V arlhorough, 11 souls; Taranaki, 18 souls; Westland, 15 souls ; Hawkes Bay, 9 souls ; Canterbury, 1 soul ; making a total of 325 souls.
