Feilding State School.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the School Committee was held in the school house. last evening. Present — Messrs Thompson (chairman), Foster (secretary) Bray, Watts, Worsfold, Towler, and Rev H. M- Murray. Mr Dowling presented the report from the Inspector's Log Book to May 16th. This was read by the chairman and signed by himself and two other members of the committee. Mr Dowling also presented a report of the- attendance of scholars for the five weeks ending- June "Ist. The report showed that notwithstanding the wet weather that had prevailed, the increase of attendance had been 3.81. A letter was read from Mr Bray containing the resignation of Miss E. M . Bray as cadet teacher, on account of delicate health, and it Was resolved that the resignation be accepted. The minutes of the several previous special committee meetings were read and confirmed. The following accounts were passed for payment: — C. Behzaman, for firewood. £2 6s; R. Belfit, for gravelling, £3 6s. A letter was read from Mr Dowling, calling attention to the great inconvenience experienced from one of the chimneys 'smoking very badly, and it was resolved to leave the matter in the hands of Mr Bray to be remedied. Tt. was- resolved, That the Secretary write to the Board and request that the amount of account for advertising the annual meetings o£ householders in the district for appointing committees be refunded. Resolved, That £1 be placed in the hands of the Secretary for petty cash accounts. Resolved, That the Board be requested to do certain improvements to the interior of the school building. The Committee then adjourned.
