(pee united pjkess association.) Auckland, This Day. Cornwall, of Samoa, whose dealings with McArthur and Co. have several times been before the public, and who recently horsewhipped a member of the firm, has drawn up and transmitted to the Secretary of State for the Colonies a petition, entering fully into all circunv stances of the case, and contending thai the seizure of land made by McArthur was unjust, illegal and injurious to the interests of a large number of Natives at Samoa. It is reported in town that Cornwall has got up a company in connection with Samoa, and that John Lundon left on Sunday to take possession of the land in dispute.
