In the course of his speech Lord Loftus stated the revenue of the colony was very satisfactory, and fully realising the Treasurer's estimate. Melb<>ubne, May 2. At a meeting of the Victoria Racing Club t -day it was decided to add 1000 soys to the Melbourne Cup, making 1500 soys added money, and that the winner of the Victorian Derby must carry 7lbs penalty for the "Melbourne Cup.
