KIWITEA HIGHWAY BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of the above was held in the Manchester Highway Board office yesterday afternoon. Present — Wardens Da-vies, Taylor (Chairman), Williamson, MacKenzie, and Biycc. The minutes of the previous ordinary meeting were read and confirmed. COEEIvSrONDENCE. From Mr Sherwill, enclosing £14 12s 3d, beiug amount of rates collected on day of election on behalf of the Board. From Mr Carthew, enclosing account of £T 14s lOd, for stationery. From T. Smith, enclosing account for £81, for work done on Mackay's Line. Resolved, on the motion of Warden Bryce, seconded by Warden Williamson, That the account of T. Smith be referred to the Manchester Highway Board for settlement, as that body had a bal nice in hand of a special grant, available for paying for tbe wor • done. Resolved, on the motion of Warden Williamson, seconded by Warden Taylor, That the Clerk write to the Colonial Secretary, requesting information as to payment of deferred payment money now due to the Board. Resolved, on the motion of Warden Williamson, seconded by Warden Davies, That Wardens Williamson, Taylor, and Bryce attend tbe next meeting of the Manawatu Highway Board, with a view of securing a balance-sheet, as already requested. Resolved, on tbe motion of Warden Williamson, seconded by Warden ißryce, 'lhat the amount of £14 12s 3d, sent in ■by Mr. Sherwill, be returned to him, and
request Lim to pay the same to the Manawatu Highway Board. Resolved, on the motion of Wnrden Williamson, seconded by Y\"arden Br3 r ce. That Mr E. Goodbeheye be appointed Secretary and Coll etor for the sixmonths, commencing on the 9th of Dec. last. Resolved, on the motion of Warden Taylor, seconded by Warden Williamson, Tliat the Secretary obtain information ns to all over-due rates, and sue for them forthwith. The meeting then adjourned.
