The Rev Father Luck, tho new-ap-pointed Human Catholic Bishop of Auckland, is a passenger for N \v Zealand, by the steamer Wnirarapa, which left here yesterday for the Bluff. The trial of the two men, Smith and Shaw/on a charge of attempting to rob the Commercial IBank of Australasia at Avenel, on the ttth ultimo, was concluded to-day. Smith was found guilty, and sentenced to three years' penal servitude. Shaw was discharger. Thorp-, teller of the Bank of Victoria who was sentenced on N'>vembersth, 1881, to two years imprisonment for embezzlement, has now been released from gaol. It is reported that Navigator has shown signs of lameness.
