SERIOUS RACING ACCIDENT.

A • The Chronicle of to-day says the hack hurdle rac« at yesterday's pleasuut racing meeting did not pass over without a serious accident. Mr K. Watt was riding Diiinthus. The various competitors for the race were only started, but coming to the first hurdle the horses were mucli crowded and Diunthus came into collision with Furze. The result was that Mr Watt was thrown heavily upon his h«ad, his left forehead striking the ground with frightful violence. He was at one* removed. Drs Earle and Conolly were soon in attendance, but it was found that Mr Walt was suffering from severe concussion of the brain, and in fact for some time after his removal into the carriage was delirious an i raving.
