LOCAL INDUSTRIES.
The Saturday Advertiser says: — Our Tokomairiro friends are alire to tlie importance of local industries. Already they have pottery works which have a«sumed large proportions, and furnish employment to a considerable number. Should they be successsul in floating the projected woollen factory in that locality a most important and profitable industry will soon be established, and then the youths in and about Tokomairiro will be able to obtain a living in the district. The Mosgiel, Kaiapoi, and Knikorai woollen factories are all doing well, and we see no reason why another such factory, if reasonably well managed, should not succeed.
