ST. JOHN'S CHURCH.
The congregation of St John's Church are evidently bent upon furnishing their Church in as complete a manner as possible. Last week we chronicled the •election of a handsome reredos and now "we have much pleasure in noticing that one of the chancel windows has been filled in with painted glass of a very nice design. Upon each sheet the pattern was drawn by a visitor to our town, while the coloring was done by several of the younger ladies of the community under her supervision and with her assistance. The effect of the work is most pleasing, *nd though the want of appliances in 3?eilding has prevented the colors from lieing burnt in, it is thought the double glazing (placing two sheets in each opening with the colored face inwards) will secure the windows an existence as long as that of the Church. We understand 4hat the glass for the corresponding ■window on the north 6ide of the chancel will be inserted during the coming week.
