THE MISSING MAN CLARKE.
Having made careful enquiries both - f fie police authorities and the family of the man Willi im Clarke, of Makino, who was missed last Wednesday week, as already rep* rted in our columns, we regret to state that no tidings whatever have as yet been heard of him. Should any tract of him be discovered, his friends will be immediately informed thereof. We would only too gladly have expressed a hope of his still being found alive, but we fear the worst may now. be expected, and that the young man has met with his «nd in crossing the Manawatu River. The family are to be deeply sympathised witb, as in addition to other misfortunes, there is now the probability of their having lost one of the r principal ■up porter*.
