A SWIMMING BATH FOR FEILDING.
TO TIIE EDITOR OF THE FEILDING STAB. Sib, — Is it not time something was don. J owards providing a public bathing place in Feilding ? The bathing sea-son is coming en, and with a good stream of water running through the heart of the town, it seems a pity this cannot be utilised for the purpose of affording the means of a good swim to all who, like Hie writer, know how to appreciate such a luxury. Common decency, as well as tbe Borough bye-laws, forbid one bathing within sight of any public rjad, but it would be an easy matter to construct a suitable swimming bath in such a position as to be constantly fed by the Makino Stream. Tbe Borough Council are probably not at present in a position to take the matter up, but as it need not be a very expensive' undertaking, "the thing could easily be managed by subscription. I would suggest a meeting of those persons interested in the manly art of natation, so as to form a committee for the purpose of making an effort towards so desirable an object as that of a good swimming bath.— L am, &c, Aqua.
