FEILDING PUBLIC LIBRARY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE FEILDING STAB. Sib, — In connection with your advocacy of a public library for Feilding (an object which has all my sympathy), I would suggest that a meeting of those interested should be called immediately, and see what can be done ; and tbat a committee be appointed to wait on the owners of sites suitable for such an institution. I cannot think they would fail to have a site given them for such a purpose. The ground being obtained, the mill-owners of the district migi.t be asked for don tions of timber towards the construction of a building suitable for the purpose, which I have no doubt would be also granted. Then, what with a library rate, donations of books, &c, we might soon have a flourishing public library. No doubt there are many willing to help a good movement of this kind. I shall be pleased if this provokes more suggestions and discussion on the subject. Your subscriber is ready to do his best to make it a success. — I am. &c, Book- Wobm.
