WEDDING BELLS.
ELLIOTT—WATERS, A very pretty wedding took piace at St. Anthony's Church, Waiuku., on November Bth. when Miss Evelyn (Mickey) Waters, fourth daughter of Mr W. Waters, Hull’s road, and grand-.dughter of the late Mr Philip Henry, of Patumahoe, was married to Mr B, second son of Mr T." Elliott, of the NI.Z, Railways. The ceremony was conducted by the R%v, Father Skinner. {I he bride, who was given away by her father, looked very winsome in a dainty ,frock of crejam satin charmeuse trimmed with pearls, with train of cream satin lined with mauve crepe de chine, which fell from her shoulders ; and a beautiful hand embroidered veil with wreath of orange blossoms, >and she carried a beautiful bouquet of roses and sweet pea with streamers of white and mauve satin ribbon. Miss Octavia Wrfaters, sister of the bride, acted ds bridesmand, and wore a sweetly pretty frock of mauve crepe de chine daintly trimmed with beads and jjarge pink; satin rose at side, and black picture hat trimmed w'ith lace and spray of flowers, and carried a lovely shower bouquet of roses, sweet pea and asparagus fern with mauve and pink streamers. A pretty little girl, sister of tne bride, in flowered organdi, and Master Ashton Neil acted as train-bearers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Les Elliott Miss Neil presided at the organ, The bride was driven to apcl from the church by Mr S. Neil whosi,e car was beautifully decorated for the occasion with flowers and white satin steramers. After the ceremony the guests, numbering about, a hundred,, were entertained by the bride’s parents in a large marquee, erected on the |awn at their residence, which was decorated with wedding bells, flags* flowers and Chiniese lanterns. The centre of attraction was the exceptionally handsome wedding cake whjtch was made and presented by Mrs J, Brinton. The Rev. Father Skinner, : n ai neat speech, proposed the toast of the bride and bridegroom* the groom responding in a humorous and witty manner. The following toasts were received with musical honours: The bridesmaid; parents of the bride and 1 bridegroom ; the presiding clergyman ; the ladies, tne waitresses ; aln.d several other toasts. Over a score of telegrams were received by the happy couple. Ihe wedejmg presents were numerous and costly 'including several cheques. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold wristlet watch, to the bridesmaid a signet ring and x o the flower 'gild a gold 1 brooch ; the bride’s present to the bridegroom was a handsome travelling rug. In the afternoon the happy couple left for Rotorua and had a merry send off amid showers of rice* rose petals, confetti and congratulations, ( the bride wearing a chic navy costume and black picture hat, Waiuku News.
