TUAKAU TOWN BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of jthe Tuakau Town Board was held on Tuesday/, when there were present: Messrs Dynes Fulton (chairman), G, S. Lapwood, G. Arrowsmith, W. J. Taylor, C. Finch,, J. B. Him and the clerk (Mr A, H. Tapper). The Tuakau . School Committee requested the remission of an account for £1 for the use of the tar boiler. —The clerk was instructed to reply that owing to tthe financial position of the Boad, the Board regretted that it could not remit the amount. Mr B«. Ger-aghty waited on the Boad concerning the diversion of wateif from Cole’s Road, which at present flooded his property.—On the motion of the chairman the matter was referred to the foreman* who is to confer with Mr Geraghty to see what fis necessary. Mr Medland reported that he had met property owners interested in a proposed road from Jellicoe Avenue to the school and from the opinions of /these land owners he believed the necessary land would be given, However, the matter was referred to the chairman and Mr Medland to go further into the matter and to report to the washing-up meeting of the Board.
The master of making arrangements for the provision of a suitable entrance to tjhei Methodist Church was loft in the hands of Messrs Arrowsmith and Taylor, The clerk reported that up-to-date the cost otf tarring and sanding George Street was £282 11s Id.
Accounts amounting to £lOl i6s 9d general account, and £72 9s 3d loan account werd passed for payment, The overdraft of general account was shown at £615 19s 2d, whiie the loan account was stated to be in credit £378 2s .lOd.
