HOW TO SAVE £22,500,000.
A careful, estimate itho/t rather understates the case,, shows 'that every year in New Zealand 7 1 ■> million pounds are wasted' on intoxicating drink. If prohibition is not carried at Ithe next poll), this means that in the three following years, at feast f:22,500,000 will, be spent on drink. Voting prohibition will stop that, save that money for other purposes. The President! of the National. Association of Manufacturers in the U. S. A • writing on March 22, said l :—“!ln /the smaller cities and towns and in the couritjtrv disricts thousands of homes have been built which would not hav;e been bui.t and millions of women ;and children have been provided with food and clothes who have suffcfred for these necessities if there were no Prohibition Amendment.” Prohibition is just Common-sense.
