BUCKLAND BAZAAR.
AN UNQUALIFIED SUCCESS. CHURCH FUNDS AUGMENTED* ■ I The Bucklai-d Bazaar, which took place in the Public Hall, Buckland* ■ on December 10th, was an unqualified success from every,, point ofview. The function was promoted 1 . - with the object of aiding the fundsof St. Paul’s Church, and as a re» suit thereof the fund was to the extent of between £9O £IOO. The committee, with Mr in Richings as secretary, worked as«B siduously to make the event successful, and it j!s pleasing 1 to chronicle .. their efforts were not in vain. There was a large attendance, in spite of , the inclement weather.. Punctually at 2 p.m. 'the representative of the Pukekohe East Riding on the Franklin County Council (Mr H„ Wilcox) 1 declared the bazaar open, and in so> doing congratulated the promoters mi the excellent display. Rev. J. P. Cowie (Vicar) and Mr E„ Allan alsoadded testimony.
Stalls were erected round the in** terior of the hall, at which, business was very brisk. The stall holders , were: Fancy and needlework, Mes* V dames Calvert and Richings; cake, t Mrs Rj. Xmas tree, Mrs. Stringer; produce,: Messrs Hewdtt, I. Wilcox and W*. Jeffries ; competitions, Mr Whitehead*.
