A keen contest between the focal B team andl the Suburban B team took place on Saturday last oon the latter club’is courts, and a most enjoyable afternoon resulting in a win for Pukekohe by eight sets to 4. The results are as follows, the Suburban players being mentioned first MEN’S DOUBLES.
L. Roose and K. Stevens lost to V. Morris and W. G. Brosnahan 3 L. Reynolds and E. Waters lost to Jas. and J. Adams, 5—L Geo. Reynolds. and D. Lister bea,t W. Patterson and B. Laird, 7—4. LADIES’ DOUBLES. Miss Reynolds and Mrs G. Reynolds beat Mrs Rhodes and Mrs Morris, 7—2. Mrs F. Reynolds and Miss Hughes beat Miss Milligan and Miss Laird, 7—4. Misp Laing and Miss Golding lost tc Miss Middlemiss and E. Cornes, 3 7 COMBINED DOUBLES. L. Roose and Miss Reynolds lost to V. Morris and Mrs RhodJes, 2 7. K. Stevens and Mrs G. Reynolds lost to Jno. Adams and Miss Milligan 3 7 L. Reynolds and Mrs F. Reynolds lost to Brosnahan andi Mrs Morris, 3 7^ E. Waters and Miss Hughes beat Patterson and Miss Laird, 7 5. G. Reynolds and Miss Laing lost to B. Laird and Miss Middlemiss, 4—7. D. Lister and Miss Golding lost to Jas. Adams and Miss E. Cornes, 3—7. On Saturday next the Pukekohe Club will hold a combined doubles handicap tournament, and the club ladders will be set up on the oasis of the day’s play. The tournament, which will be open to all wiill be conducted on a time basis, and the matches counted on points. The winning pair will receive trophies, donated by the president.
