WRIGHT MEMORIAL CUP. WAIUKU V. PUKEKOHE. WIN FOR THE FORMER. Three rinks from the Wavuku Bowling Club visited Pukekohe on Thursday in an endeavour to lift the C. Monty Wrigh£ Memorial. Cup, a trophy given by the Pukekohe Bowling Club in memory of 'the late Mr C. Monty Wright ,a’n enthusiastic member of the liocalt club, to he competed for between the Waiuku and Pukekohe Clubs. , ~ . - Mr James Roulston (president oi the local club) extended a hearty welcome to the visitors, and explained the conditions under which the cup was played for. , . , The games were keenly contested, Waiuku eventually winning by IS •points, the scores being Waiuku (challengers) 66 points, Pukekohe (holders) ,48 points. ■ The defending rinks were by no means the strnogest the club coulcl produce, but under ' the conditions skips who successfully defended the trophy are not eligible to play until the club holding the cup is defeated. As Waiuku were successful, Jack, Eimsley, and Williams will mt oe eligible to play until Pukekohe regains possession of the cup. 1 The rinks and scores are : Waiuku— Naysmith, G. Mearns,_ E. Afternoon tea, dispensed by the ladies, was duly appreciated At the conclusion of the match, Mi Jas. Houston handed the cup over to the Waiuku president (Mr C. >oote), at the same time congratulating Waiuku on their meritirous win. Mr Coote suitably responded. Cheers were then gilven by the re spective clubs.
