PUKEKOHE BUSINESS MEN. WILL HELP BOOST A. & P. SHOW. The Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce, at its meeting last night, decided to inaugurate a “Farmers’ Week,” Ito take, effect during _ the February A. & P. Show. The idea, put briefly, is that the Jocalj business men will make special inducements to shop in Pukekohe during that week. Each business man will be expected to especially dress and decorate his window space for the occasion, making whatever soeeiai offers he can, and circularise the district urging people to visit Pukekohe for the Show, and incidently to do what shopping is required in Pukekohet This method is one of the secrets of success in the running of the big show at Hamilton. The business men boost the show, the town and their businesses, and cooperate with the show people in every way possible. The idea of the Chamber is to get as many people possible to visit Pukekohe during the week, in which two days are given to the show. Properly organised the event could be made a real carnival week, which would draw thousands to visit this town. In addition to the show, such attractions as sports, bowls, tennis championships, races, concerts, etc., should be organised, to add the carnival touch required.
