St. Andrew’s big Flower Show takes place on 18th and 19th inst., and the favourable season should. ensure a magnificent exhibition. Thirty additional classes have been added to the flowers’ section, and exhibits will be forthcoming from several prominent nurserymen. A special feature will be specimens of new roses not yet seen in this district, grown by Mr Lippiatt, of Qtahuhu, from his’ recently acquired European^ StOclvS. The sports, io be held on Saturday, 19th inst, provide amusement for everyone. The children have flee a given special consideration, there being events for all ages in running, skipping ,etc. Three open running events are provided, also pony races, Fire Brigade, competitions, Bandsmen’?, race, and otnev contests. The committee are arranging evening* competitions anci entertainmeruts on both nights, and. arrangements have been made ior the Pukekohe Band to be in attendance.
