ROOSE’S BUSH.
SOMETHING MUST BE DONE.
Failing to receive tenders for the lease of Roose’s Bush, the Works Committee of the Borough Council was recently instructed to make some arrangements ito lease the property for a term, but in answer to a question by the Mayor at Monday’s meeting of the Borough Council, the chairman of the Works Committee (Cr A. P. Daysh) reported that northing further had been done, excepting that one person had approached him with a view of leasing one acre of the reserve. This he would not entertain. ,
During the subsequent discussion, it was pointed out that blackberry and fern were beginning to spring up and if not checked the property would soon be in a very untidy state. It was suggested that the property he ploughed by the Council. It was the general opinion of Councillors that something should be done. Eventually the Works Committee was empowered to call tenders for clearing ’ and ploughing the reserve if they thought it advisable.
