In view of the objection by the various local bodies to contribute towards the cost of effecting _ repairs to the Mangere bridge and its approaches, the damage Of which was caused by heavy winds and st.ro,ng tides, the solicitors to the Manukau County Council wrote at last meeting, stating thajt they had made application far the issue of a warrant to set up a Commission to allocate the cost of the repairs ito the bridge approaches. They suggested that, in the meantime, the Council should take a test tally of the traffic across the bridge on several different dates. . The solicitor’s action was approved.
