PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Papakura Town Board was held on Monday night, when jthere were present: Messrs S. Evans (chairman), J. R. Wilson, P. J. Parke,r, T, D. Campbell, J. Beams, D. Weir, and) the clerk (Mr A. L. Cooper). Mr C. i Thomas wrote asking the Board to pipe the drain cut through his property in Queen Street. The open drain was dangerous to grazing cattleI,'—Messrs 1 ,' —Messrs Campbell and Weir were delegated to inspect and report on at next meeting. Mr E. S. Cole was granted permission to remove a building situated on the Great Soujth Road. . f On the motion of Mr Wilson, it was decided to ask the Railway Department to raise the approaches of the southern boundary crossing to the level of the railway line. Mr D. Weir urged the necessity of attending to the rojads during the summer. A loan over the, whole district was necessary. The roads were in a bad stajte, and unless something was done they would be bogged next winter. It was suggested that a special meeting of the Board be held to consider (the matter, with a view of placing the position before _ the ratepayers with the object of raising a loan, Accounts were passed for payment as follows :—Road loan, £l4 13s; wate f r loan, £587 0s 6c5; general account, £605 14s sd.
