PRESENTATION.
TO SOCIAL WORKERS. A very pleasing little ceremony took place at the wind-up of the socials held by the Church of England Ladies’ Guild on Tuesday evening, when four presentations took place. Mr J. W. Johns (in the absence of the .Rev. J. P. Cowie), in a few words, handed |to Miss Ivy Duncan, who had been m9st atentive in supplying the music for the socials throughout the series, a Royal Douliton teapot, and to Mrs Robert Wilkinson, and Misses Zinzan and Ryan each a box of handkerchiefs for assisting with the music. All -were warmly applauded. The gifts were from the Ladies’ Guild, who appreciated the help so willingly given.
TP MR AND MRS G. NOSWORTHY. .Opportunity was taken at the official opening of the Pukekohe Bowling Club’s green on Saturday last by Mr Jas. Roulston (President) to make small presentations to Mr and Mrs G. Nosworthy on behalf of the Seaside Improvement and Surf Bathing Society (Taranaki), of which the recipients were highlyesteemed members. Mr Roulston read letters received from the Society by the Bowling Club eulogising (the work performed by Mr Nos worthy since the Society’s inception in 1914. On behalf of the Society he presented 1 Mrs Nosworthy with a set of stainless dinner knives, and Mr Noswor,thy with a pocket book and wallet (combined) as a mark of the esteem in which they were held, and in appreciation of services rendered. In doing so he extended a hearty to the recipients, and trus,ted their residence in Pukekohe would be pleasant. Mr Nosworthy suitably responded.
