CROQUET.

THE PUKEKOHE CLUB. The Croquet Club in Pukekohe, the existence of which was brought about by the thoughtfulness of the Bowling Club members, has not in the past hpd many players, but from all accounts the membership will be increased this season. The few players of this somewhat scientific game have made the most of their opportunities and some good games have been played. With increased membership there should be no reason why the ladies could not take part in games with outside districts. At the end of the season last year a progressive match was played for prizes presented by Mrs Stuart (president of the club, the winners being Mrs C. K. Lawrie and Mrs R, Fitness. The singles m£sch, also carried out during the season, was won by Mrs Nos worthy, the prize for which was presented by Mr Jas. Roulston (president of the Bowling Club). The thanks of the ladies are due to' the donors for stimulating interest in the game.
