HOWICK-TAMAKI.
PRESBYTERS AN GHURCH ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the HowickTamaki Presbyterian Church was held on Tuesday evening, August 16, in the Uxbridge Street Church, Howick. Members and adherents to the number of about fifty attended. Reports fi om the various societies in connection* with the church were received, together with the session and treasurer’s reports. The charge had done well in the matter of finance during the past year, having raised, for general . expenses, £727. Early in the vear the church acquired a house and grounds, suitable for a manse, for which they paid £ISOO. The latter is free from debt, They also replaced the horse and gig with a higlipowered motor cycle and side car at a cost of £l5O. The Sunday Schopl had doubled its average attendance during the year, and the “busy bees’ (the children’s section of the Presbyterian Missionary Union) raised £ls. A pleasing touch was added after the business of the evening was concluded by the presentation of a piece*of jewellery to Miss W.ann, one of the workers of the church, by the ladies of the congregation.
