WEDDING BELLS.

TWIDLE IHcWATT.

A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. James’ Presbyterian Church on August 24, the Rev. S. Nixon officiating, when Mr Ernest O'. S. Twidle, fifth son of Mrs J. Hooej’, of Pukekohe, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Lucy May McWatt, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. McWatt, of Pukekohe. The bride, who was given away by her father, lookd charming in ivory satin, eharmeuse embroidered with pearls and handsome silk Duch lace over dress, with coronet of'lace to match. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful shower boquet of lillies, fresias ancl asparagus fern. The bridesmaid was Miss Irene McWatt, sister of the bride, who was prettily gowned in ivory crepe de chine, shell-pink floss trimmings, with a hat to match. She carried a dainty boquet of primroses, fresias and asparagus fern. Mr Hector Twidle (brother of the bridegroom) acted as best man. After the ceremony about forty guests partook of a sumptuous wedding breakfast at the Carnival tea-rooms, when the usual were honoured. Mr and Mrs Twidle subsequently left on their honeymoon, which is being spent in the North. The bride’s going away dress was a navy serge .cos - tume, trimmed with black silk braid, and hat to match. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold bracelet, and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch. Presents were costly ancl numerous. Mr and Mrs Twidle will in future reside at Otorohanga.
