The match for Mrs Campbellsuav sa;pu[ .to iun l .ioj Uqdo.Tj sqpuug played on Saturday last and the cards handed in showed a marked improvement in the standard of play or the competitors for the season. The weather was cold and showers fell during the progress of the game. Miss P. Wily won the trophy with Miss McKenzie as runner-up. The match for Mr Jones’ consolation club was a runaway victory for Dr. Campbell Smith. His card showed 44 for the first nine holes and 43 for the second round. His gross score 87, handicap 22, net 65, was a record card for match play this season. In the July medal match Mr B. P. Hopkins and Mr Jas. Roulston tied with a net score of .74 each. The draw for the mixed foursome match to be held on Saturday next is as follows: —Miss Harty and Chas. Bonner, Mrs Jones and B. Hopkins, Mrs Rhodes and H. Middlemiss, Mrs Pa.ttle and L. Bayly, Mrs D. Roulston and W. Johns, Miss Hawke and W. Hopkins, Mrs Fear and Jas. Roulston, Miss Allan and Dr. Campbell Smith, Miss Duncan and W. Townsend. Mrs Cook and H. Pattle, Miss Mackenzie and W. Jones, Miss Wily and R. Fear. Mrs Campbell Smith and F. Chapman, Mrs Bayly and R. Higginson, Mrs Motion and Dr. McSweeney, Miss Clarke and F. Duncan, Mrs Abbott arid E. Waters.
miDDLErciORE LINKS. H. B. LUSK’S FINE SCORE. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. Although there had been heavy vain during several days prior to the meeting of the Auckland Golf Club at the Middlemore Links, Mangere, on Saturday last, the course was in good condition for playing off the qualifying rounds of the club championship, and no damage was done by the two rounds p’ayed upon it. Forty-six players entered, and the display was very creditable. In the first round H. B. Lusk attracted attention by making a fine score of 77. His card read:—Out: 4, 5,5, 5,5, 5,3, 5, 5 —42; in: 4,4, 3, 2, 3, 5,4, 5, 5—35. The followingeight qualified:—H. B. Lusk, 77 first round, 81 second round-—total 158; W. B. Colbeck, 83, 87—170; F. G. Binney, 84. 91 —175; R. O. Gardner, 87, 90 — 177; R. Rainger, 92, 86—178; D. MacCormick, 92, 87-179; C. F. Gardner, 90, 9i —isi. The next best cards were: —G, F. Colbeck, 88, 94—182; W. Blander, 89 93—182; W. S. Ralph, 91, 91 182; P. T. Upton, 89, 94—183; G. F. Foote, 90, 94 —184; J. Macky, 90, 91 184; F. V. Kelly, 90, 97—187; T. G. Kissling, 95, 93 —188; J. B. Lusk, 93, 95—188; A. W. Gillies, 93, 96—189. The J. C. Burns Cup, presented to the club in memory of her late husband, to be retained for the year by the player making the best gross score, went to H. B. Lusk. In the semi-final of the junior championship, S. J. Hanna beat C. W. Gillies 6 up and 4 to play, Dr Mi Isom beat B. S. Finn 2 up and 1 to play.
