TAMAKI WEST ROAD BOARD.
ELECTRIC POWER STATION. Electrical development was considered at a recent meeting of the Tamaki West Road Board, when Mr E. R. Pilkington presided. The concensus of opinion was that some scheme should be put in hand at an early date, and on the recommendation of the consulting engineer, it was decided to purchase No. 2 sec tier of Reading’s, sub-division in the Long Drive, as a site for an electrical power station. The meeting fully appreciated an offer of one hundred young pohutukavva trees by Mr H. B. Morton, oi Epsom, and the opportunity of obtaining such a large supply of this .summer bloomer was accepted. The. trees would be planted along tire cliffs and the foreshore. A resolution was passed that tne Minister of Finance be asked to consent to the Board paying 6 per cent, interest on loans authorised. The Progress League complained to the Board that cattle and horses were to be seen wandering on the roads. — It was resolved that the ranger, in addition to impounding stray cattle and horses, take proceedings against the owners after one warning had been given.
