NEEDED IN PUKEKOHE. A. AND P. SOCIETY MOVING. r £ls IN HAND. The advisability of taking steps to establish an Agricultural Library in Pukekohe for the benefit of farmers •in Frank ton was urged sit Friday night's meeting of tthe Franklin A. I and ?. Society by Mr Charles Shipherd. The mover in the matter stated that if the Society approved of the suggestion it would undoubtedly be a step in the right direction. He . realised that the funds of the Society would not do It, but it could ,be done by subscription. He also suggested that the matter be brought up at the next annual meeting. In the meantime Mr Shipherd said he would donate £5 (towards starting the library and he handed in his dona-' ticn. which was accepted with thank.-. Mr Jas. Porter followed suit and : Mr Jas. Roulston did likewise. Mr. Shipherd stated that if the library was established they would have to get northing- but up-to-date books. Reference books were cf extreme value to farmers. •, The president and Mr Jas Roulston . supported, the proposition. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs Shipherd, Jas. Roulston, Jas. Potter and Jas. Wylie was set up to canvass for subscriptions and to report progress at the annual meeting. Mr D. R. -Hamilton donated a volume of the Friesian Herd Books, 1 which offer was accepted with thanks. Messrs. Potter and Roulston were also th -bed for their donations.
