MAUKU.
On Sunday last harvest thanksgiving services were held in St. Bride’s Church, the vicar (Rev. J. C. Fussell) conducting- the morning service and Mr. Wvkes the evening service. The ladies of the parish decorated the church and there was an abundance of fruit and vegetables which have been forwarded t«> the Orphans Fume. On Wednesday a working- bee wa - held in connection with St. IF ide s to clean up the church and gv ands. r.r.d a good attendance of parishioners resulted in a splendid daj - being done; The ladies are der- rvir.c
a v/ord of nraise for the work they accomplished in the church. The Mauku Tennis Club are playing Otaua on Saturday, March 19th, and the Cricket Club play Glenbrook the same day. The cricket team will be chosen from the following;:—A. Corntlnvaite (captain), E. C. Cuff, W. Finlay, S. Wilson, W. Moore, S. Kowe, C. Brooks, Gilroy, F. Kavanagh, Butler. W. Pieydell, Bngeant (2), and G, Howard.
