AN OVERCROWDED SCHOOL.

PAPAKURA’S POSITION. The advisability of having additional accommodation at the Papakura public school to cope with the increased attendance, has been urged upon the Education Board and we understand that the Board has the matter of providing the necessary alterations in hand. At last\ night’s meeting of the Papakura Town Board a letter was received from the chairman of the school committee (Rev. W. O. Wood, requesting to know if the Town Board wanted to lease the Church of Christ chapel, situated on the Great South Road, opposite the present school for Board requirements. He pointed out that the School Committee had applied to the Education Beard for permission to rent the building to take school children out of the present overcrowded school.— It was decided to rqplv stating that the Board may require the building for its requirements.
