BUCKLAND.
(Own Correspondent.) Owing to the additions to the school being incomplete holidays have been extended for a week, and we very much regret to learn that Miss Morgan, one of the assistant teachers, has been and is still unable toi resume her work on account of illness. Nobody appears to be sorry at having an extra week; certainly the scholars are jubilant and hope for more, as Oliver Twist did years ago and trade unionists do now. , Mr. Andrews, who only recently bought a property here, has been appointed to a school in the Kaipara district, and has gone to take up his duties! The Methodist Church Choir has been resuscitated, holds weekly practices. and is quite a feature .of the Church service on Sunday evenings. Mr. J. Danes is the conductor. Mr Maleolmson and family have left the district and taken a house in Puni. A pleasant send-off was given the family by the Methodist Sunday School.
Several properties have changed owners recently. Mr. Loft has sold his fine house and land to Mr. Adams who has taken up residence. Mr. and Mrs. Loft have returned to the King country for a time. Mr. Greenwood sold his little farm and has taken a house in another part of the district. Mr. John Lowe has also sold our. we hear, and is moving this mon-h. is- being ■ ;ade by county in grading ue road to the creamery, and it promises to be a great improvement when completed, Hopes and fears are being expressed lest Hamilton's Road. should go another winter without metal.. Both Council and Borough have got the stone on the road. May the crusher come soon.
