He stated that on Monday last a big black cow was being driven through George Street, when all of a sudden she made a bold attempt to break away. Instead of continuing on her way along the street, the animal took refuge in Mr. A. H. Tapper’s chemist shop. The cow, not being content with an inspection of the dispensary, inspected the Town Board room,, and, satisfying herself that all was in order, proceeded to the lumber room at the rear of the shop. By this time the animal realised her predicament and became, excited. Eventually she was let out by means of. the back door, httle the worse for her experience. No damage was done, but it took a man some time cleaning up the marks she had made on the floor. It to prohibit driving stock through George Street, and Mr. Jas.
