TECHNICAL SCHOOL BOARD
Mr J. J. Marlow presided at the mouthJy meeting of the Technical College Board of Managers yesterday afternoon, and tho following members were present;—Messrs C. J. Hayward. W. Jacobsen, V. R. Cmwshaw, J. M. Patrick, W. G. Cocking, W. T. Anderson, L. Sanderson, Dr R. Gardner, and Mrs M. E. Morris. '
The action of the principal, Mr W. G. Aldridge, in promising tho use of the school practical rooms and of the services of certain members of the teaching staff to assist in Army educational courses during th# vacations was approved. Tiie principal’s report staled that sickness and military duties had made aeriods inroads into the work of evening classes, analysis of the attendances over the past two years showed a steady drop from an average of 19.3 in March, 1041, to 16.0 af the beginning of this term. The Works Committee reported having carefully inspected the whole sequence of the work involved in the manufacture of 100 models of the Flying Fortress aeroplane for the R.N.Z.A.F. stations. It had been impressed with the inventiveness and workmanship displayed by Messrs Walker and J. R Macdougall.
