ST. JAMES A brief despatch from Budapest, Hungary, telling of the death of a 3X-year-old stallion, , Conversano, one of the famous Lippizan horses from Vienna’s Spanish Riding Academy, was of particular interest in Hollywood. Tlie great-grandson of Conversano plays the title role in the picture ‘ Florian,’ which comes tomorrow to the St. James. Twenty-three years ago Convorsano was shipped from Vienna to Budapest when the last Emperor of Austria became the last Ring of Hungary, Charles I. The thousand-year-old coronation ceremony required a white horse, ou which the new Icing rides to tlie top of a mound of earth gathered from all tlie countries in the kingdom. It was Conversano that carried the new ruler through the coronation ceremony before more than 150,000 spectators, the last coronation of Hungary, on December 30, 1916. ‘ Florian,’ which is a story of the famed Lippizan horses, features one of the beautiful white horses which was presented to Maria Jeritza by the Austrian Government as a token of esteem for her work in the Vienna Imperial Opera.
