MAYFAIR
‘ The Man Who Lost Himself ’ is the title of the film which opened at the Mayfair yesterday. It is a farcical story" but Brian Aherne and Kay Francis, the leading players, make it a delightful fantasy. They are assisted by brilliant photography, clever direction, and a cast of uniform strength. When John Evans starts the story by having a night of revelry and awakes in a strange bed in a strange house, his chaotic memory of night clubs merges into hopeless confusion as he finds that ho has been burdened with the name and responsibilities of his chance companion in merry-making, an unfortunate and eccentric being named Scott. The story is unusually clever, in that it is worked through with twists that heap laughs on laughs; and it gives Aherne and Miss Francis an opportunity for polished acting. The supporting picture is 1 The Round Up,’ starring Richard Dix.
