“ I wish I had a battalion of men like him,” said film star Low Ayres’s commanding officer, when the film actor completed his basic army training. Ayres, who recently set the nation talking because of his refusal to fight, has earned the highest praise for his army efforts. He will shortly become part of an active non-combatant service.
