Advice has been'received that Leading; Aircraftman Olaf Ruben, of Havenswood road, St. Clair, has been promoted: to flight-sergeant. Prior to joining the> Air Force Flight-sergeant Ruben was a--member of the ‘ Evening Star ’ reporting staff. Major C, T. Andrew, Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Records, Army Headquarters, Wellington, is at-, present carrying out an inspection of: Area XL records. Sir James Hutchison returned front the north by the express last night. Advice has been received that Private; John L. Wilkie, of Abbotsford, is a. prisoner of war in Italy. A Washington Press Association message states that President Rooseveltannounced that Brigadier-general P, J. Hurley is, returning to New Zealand as Unitetl States Minister. Mr E. N.
