Dunedin has now raised its quota for the All Purposes Appeal and has commenced the task of raising £10,500 for prisoners of war weekly parcels. Owing .to the great increase in the number of prisoners of war since the original budget was drawn up, necessitating an expenditure of an additional £200,000; Otago has been asked to raise an extra £22,000, of which Dunedin’s proportion is £10,500. Already approximately £5,000 has been contributed by a generous public, leaving £5,500 still to be raised. It is confidently anticipated by the Dunedin-St. Hilda Subzone Committee that this balance will be forthcoming by the end of this month. Dunedin is the first major city to reach its quota for the All Purposes Appeal, and siiould be ttu first to raise the additional sum required for prisoners of war parcels. COUNTRY ZONES, Recent contributions to country zone and sub-zone quotas bring the totals to: South Otago, £8,270 8s sd; Tuapeka, £4,260 9b 2d; Taieri, £3,634 18s 2d; Peninsula, £926 19s lid. During August £llß 9s was collected in the Green Island Sub-zone.
