[From Ore Correspondent.] Posties’ ” Drive. —On Friday the Milton “ posties ” made a silver coin drive for the prisoners of war parcels fund and returned the very satisfactory figure of £57 16s 3d. Day of Prayer.—A special service was held in Milton Presbyterian Church yesterday morning, when a parade comprising tho Pipe and Brass Bands, R.S.A.,yHome Guard, E.P.S. units, St. John Ambulance, Y.A.s, Girl Guides, and Brownies proceeded there. The parade strength was over 250 and the church was crowded. The Rev. S. T. Nicholls preached an appropriate sermon and the R.S.A. quartette rendered a selection. GOLF. The second round of the Balclutha men’s championship resulted.—A grade: T. M. Thompson heat R. Guest 2 up, J. Clark beat W. L. Jolly 6 and 4. B grade: G. ‘Ashcroft heat L. V. Fowler 4 and 3, O. Robinson beat W. D. Sceats 2 and 1. The first round of the knock-out competition resulted: Sutherland beat Richards by default, Landrcbo heat Scott 5 up, Marshall boat Allan 1 up, Lalta boat Bell 1 up, Edwards beat Watson 3 up, Dodds heat Burnett 1 up.
