SHARE MARKET. New Zealand Government stocks remained firm on ’Change this morning. In banking New Zealand were quoted at 39s 3d (buyer), with the seller 6d away. A buyer of Commercial offered 14s 8d without attracting a seller. National of New Zealand were wanted at 435, and National of Australasia were on offer at £5 11s fid. In meat preserving New Zealand Refrig, (cont.) iiad a close market, a buyer offering 9s fid with a seller 3d away. A buyer offered 34s for Southland (paid). Values in loan and agency and gas, coal, and oil remained unchanged. Most of the local woollen mills were inquired for at recent rates. In the miscellaneous section Booth, Macdonald (pref.) were sought at 7s, D.I.C. (pref.) at Z4s 9d, Donagny’s Rope at 47s 9d, G. J. Coles at 51s 3d, New Zealand Drug Co. at 765, and Woplworths (Sydney) at 15s 3d. In breweries there was a reported sale of New Zealand at 33s fid, with this issue still in demand at 335. In Australian mining, after a reported sale at 23s fid, Broken Hill South were quoted at 22s 6d-245. A buyer of Electro. Zinc (ord.) offered 445. North Broken Hill were still on offer at 455.
